Bitcoins and Ethereum become the settlement currency for getting an education at Wharton Business School

Wharton Business School at Pennsylvania University is launching a blockchain management education project and, by the way, this will allow students to pay for it in digital currency, this elevates it to the second level among educational institutions in the United States that allows payment in cryptocurrency. From now on, students will have the opportunity to choose a payment method in cryptocurrency from the proposed list, which also includes PayPal and plastic cards.

Wharton plans to rely on Coinbase Commerce to process payment transactions. Coinbase withdraws a one percent commission fee for the service provided to participants in the sale. According to the statement of the person representing Coinbase, various electronic wallets are suitable for the implementation of payment transactions.

To date, the payment method in cryptocurrency can only be used by those who have signed up for a one and a half month training course called “The Economics of Military-Technical Cooperation and Digital Currency”, offered online and aimed at specialists from the financial sector.

“It is worth less than one Ethereum at current rates,” said Reid Cataldo, co-founder of the training course.

Wharton Expanded Business School has not yet implemented a method of paying for education in digital money. However, according to Cataldo, the digital currency payment method is likely to be introduced in another region in Wharton and other educational institutions in the future.
